Whispers of Time (Creative Writing)
Whisper of Time
Speaking of life
It feels like a second ago I arrived,
Crying in my mother’s embrace,
With my father’s prayers whispered in my ear.
Little feet dancing under the pouring rain,
Welcoming each drop with joy and cheer.
Innocent laughter fills the air like a sweet wine,
Before the expectations of life appear.
The clock ticks faster, yet my steps feel so heavy.
Responsibilities roll in like relentless waves, steady.
Days repeat like an old, faded show,
Where freedom erodes, and the hopes start to slow.
Twenty years passed in the blink of an eye.
That child once sure dreams would touch the sky,
Now grown, with hopes that dim day by day.
Is this what they call the adult way?
Yet, in the end, I come to realize,
That even as the storms come endlessly,
My feet still standing straight in place
Cause every struggle, there’s a shining hope for me.
